Twitter was abuzz yesterday. Blogs were alive with the rumor. We were all making wishlists. The fashion world biting its nails. And then… it was official.
And if you imagine it will be odd making Lanvin mass-approachable, think again. According to Alber himself, it’s not about the premium label becoming public, but about H&M being luxury: ”I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.”
That worries me price-wise, but still. Lanvin at H&M people.
This whole matter does take me somewhere else though. The whole high-end labels going high-street. How legit is it? Is it about surviving the recession, making art available to all or fashion world domination?
I dunno but the day there’s Chanel for H&M I die from the impossibility of it all.
